The opportunity
Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated Intern to join our Oil Market Team in the summer of 2023 and further strengthen Rystad Energy’s position as a leading, independent provider of data, analysis, models and insight. Rystad Energy has established strong Oil Market and Long-term Oil and Energy Transition analysis teams, constantly improving and expanding the granular coverage of the energy supply chain in our client offerings.
This role will play a key part in further developing our oil and energy demand models by applying the latest Artificial Intelligence methodologies to forecasts oil demand and prices. The foundation of our research products is high volume of factual data, combined with sophisticated in-house data management systems and forecasting tools, to model physical relationships and market mechanisms governing the oil market and other global energy systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models and leverage them to improve forecasting accuracy
- Improve python codes associated with forecasting models
Location
Houston TX.
Experience and skills
We are looking for a motivated candidate with analytical mindset and strong quantitative skills to strengthen our Oil Demand team.
- Junior or Senior year in for Bachelor in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar is required. Master or PhD candidates will also be considered.
- Advance knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
- Outstanding ability to synthesize data and information from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative)
- Outstanding ability to process and analyze large data sets, using programming languages such SQL, Python, R and/or Matlab.
- Proactive, independent, open-minded, and creative
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and a strong multi-tasker
