Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

NEW BEDFORD, MA– Are you passionate about mental health nursing? Do you enjoy working with children and adults? Come join our team at the Child and Family Services Emergency Services Program and Crisis Stabilization Programs. Nurses are actively involved in the care and treatment of both children and adults experiencing acute mental health crises. We are a voluntary treatment center where children who meet criteria stay for 8-12 days on average and adults stay for 3-5 days on average. Clients are in need of support, monitoring and/or medication stabilization. The nurse works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team which includes members of the Psychiatry team, Clinicians and Milieu Staff. Fully benefit eligible at 20+ hours per week!  


Compensation: Now offering new generous shift differentials for 2nd shift, Overnight and Weekend shifts!! Hourly base rates below:

  • RN – $31 – $33
  • LPN- $25-$27

DIFFERENTIALS:
SATURDAY-SUNDAY 1ST SHIFT + $2.50/HOUR
MONDAY-FRIDAY 2ND SHIFT + $1.50/HOUR
SATURDAY & SUNDAY 2ND SHIFT + $4.00/HOUR
SUNDAY-THURSDAY 3RD SHIFT + $5.00/HOUR
FRIDAY & SATURDAY 3RD SHIFT +7.50/HOUR


Qualifications:


  • Must have license in the State of Massachusetts for a Registered Nurse
  • Full-time Second Shift Available
  • Part Time or Per Diem Nurses needed on all shifts – 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift
  • Experience in the mental health field preferred
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications

Responsibilities:


  • Participates in treatment planning and implementation for CCS clients
  • Monitors the administration of medication and all other medically related components to the client as per M.D. orders and the treatment plan in both the CCS and CBAT
  • Participates in medication and illness teaching with clients on CCS
  • Maintains all appropriate records for clients, including transcribing orders correctly
  • Maintains an accurate count of all narcotics on the unit and documents same
  • Actively involved in the admission and discharge of clients to the CCS and CBAT by working closely with the treatment team
  • Daily charting on all clients as needed on both CCS and CBAT
  • Participates in regularly scheduled supervision with the nursing manager
  • Participates in ongoing staff development and training curriculum
  • Reviews cases/triage as needed in the Emergency Services program with the ES clinicians
