Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking to fill a Bridge Engineer 5 (In-Training) to implement the statewide Bridge Load Rating program which encompasses over 3,200 bridges. This Lead Bridge Engineer will evaluate bridges to determine if there is a need for load posting or other traffic restrictions or structural modifications to increase live load capacity. This position also evaluates applications for overweight vehicle movement over state bridges to be crossed as well as participates as a Lead Inspector of a bridge inspection team using routine and non-destructive inspection methods.
Note: This position has an in-training plan that can be filled at either the Bridge Engineer 3, 4 or 5 level.
