Managed Services Engineer

The Company
Every day, NuHarbor Security improves the cybersecurity of our clients. Our managed security services are always watching over them, ensuring their systems are configured correctly and alerting them when real security events occur, while our penetration testing and information assurance teams provide security insight and recommendations to improve protections and shared response activities. We’re growing quickly because our clients, and the general market, are looking for more comprehensive assistance with their security strategy than product vendors or traditional service providers can offer.
The Role
The MS Operational engineer I role serves as a junior-level technical engineer within the NuHarbor Managed Services Operational team. The engineer I reports to the MS Operational Engineering Team Lead and is responsible for ensuring that existing MS client environments are maintained and developed according to standard and in alignment with client and NuHarbor expectations.

·      Responsible for supporting operations of onboarded Managed Services Clients.
·      Maintains industry and vendor certifications required to support the Managed Services catalog.
·      Supports the Managed Services Onboarding Engineering and analyst teams as needed.
·      Performs engineering tasks required to sustain existing Managed Services clients.
·      Performs daily health checks on Splunk deployments.
·      Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Engineering Leadership.
·      Develop Splunk searches, reports, alerts, and dashboards.
·      Troubleshoot Splunk and architecture configurations.
·      Regularly meet with clients to drive forward engineering objectives.

Your experience should include
·      Strong Linux and Windows proficiency
o  Able to navigate the CLI
o  Able to perform troubleshooting through the CLI
o  Able to operate in Vim(Vi)
·      Strong understanding of basic security concepts and controls and how they relate to IT networks.
·      Strong understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting interconnected systems.
Your foundation:
·      Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1 or more years in the Information Technology field
  • Relevant certifications
