GRADUATE STUDENTS: Civil Health Strategy and Policy Senior Consultant (Master's)

Booz Allen delivers a wide range and technical and consultative services to clients in its Health Market. This market consists of a diverse set of clients across HHS, VA, and Military Health. Civil health strategy and policy senior consultants work with these organizations to define their long-term mission objectives; design and refine policy, analytical, technical, and business process roadmaps to achieve these mission objectives; and measure policy and program outcomes and results. As a member of a project team, senior consultants will work with a larger project team to: (1) structure and conduct research and analysis of key mission drivers; (2) define problem statements and design policy, business, analytic, or technical solutions; (3) apply data strategies to assess mission performance, results, and outcomes; and (4) develop and deliver high-quality products to our customers in multiple forms (e.g., written documents, power point, dashboards, etc.). The strongest candidates will hold a master’s degree from a recognized policy program (e.g., MPP, MPA, MPH, Law).

Key Role:
Support a variety of internal and client-facing initiatives in support of Booz Allen's Civil Health Team. Engage with clients to help define and crystallize their goals, define business problems and issues, design solutions and roadmaps, and execute planned approach. Demonstrate intellectual curiosity by asking probing questions and by applying differing types of policy, analytical, business, or technical frameworks in developing solutions. Operate independently and be a self-starter. Work in multi-disciplinary team constructs as both project contributor and leader. Lead research efforts and analyze, interpret, and present data through the development of key products in multiple formats (power point, written documents, spreadsheets, dashboards, etc.).   Use proven and creative strategies to gather, interpret, and present data.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master’s level degree with a focus in public policy, healthcare, or public health preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to conduct independent research and create client-ready deliverables
  • Ability to define methodologies, work with teams to conduct data-driven qualitative and quantitative analysis, and make recommendations
  • Ability to ramp up quickly in new subject matter areas
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and consulting skills
  • Experience supporting efforts in the areas of policy analysis, government relations, research, and/or communications
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong data analysis and presentation development skills
  • Ability to develop and manage client relationships
  • Programming knowledge (e.g., Python, R) a plus
  • Willingness to relocate to the DC Metro Area
