Associate Scientist / Scientist - Mammalian Expression

As an Associate Scientist / Scientist, you will be responsible for mammalian cell culture and transient transfection for recombinant protein expression in HEK293 cells. The qualified candidate will support expression and purification of extracellular vesicles to support R&D efforts.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Associate Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job comparable to 0-2 years’ experience. 
  • Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
  • In some cases, an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in aseptic techniques, mammalian cell culture and protein characterization assays, including SDS-PAGE, Western blot is a must
  • Experience in tangential flow filtration and high-throughput expression screening
  • Familiarity with recombinant membrane protein expression, purification and stable cell line generation are a plus.
  • Good communication and attention to detail, team-oriented and collaborative in nature
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and /or GLPs to everyday work with regard to documentation and instrument use
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work individually and in a collaborative work environment with a team
