Digital Court Reporter

DIGITAL COURT REPORTER
 State Funded (10032)
 
Description of Work:
This is responsible work covering court proceedings using digital audio reporting systems and producing transcripts from the above-mentioned recordings. Travel to satellite courts and flexible schedule and/or overtime may be required. Working relationships are established with court personnel, divisions of the Offices of the Clerk of the Court, State Attorney, Public Defender, other state agencies, and the public. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Digital Court Reporting Manager.

Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent and two years of legal secretarial and/or medical transcription experience, or completion of stenographic court reporting training program, or at least one year experience as a stenographic court reporter. Must possess knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, legal terminology and medical terminology. Ability to type 60 words per minute with 98% accuracy or higher.  Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. Ability to use headphones and foot pedal is required.
 
Written knowledge assessment will be given at the interview.

Salary:         $2,901.92 Monthly ($34,821.35/annually) plus State benefits; State Pay Grade 18
