High School Science Teacher

Role Overview: Green Chimneys School offers an enriched academic environment with a vast array of innovative programming, including life skills, music and art, therapeutic animal-assisted activities, and outdoor education, all based in experiential learning. The fully integrated approach to education at Green Chimneys includes Academics, Therapeutic Education, Clinical & Related Services, Animal & Nature Program, and Vocational Education. Under the supervision of the House Administrator, the High School Science Teacher will develop students' skills and competence in one or more fields of science, including general science, earth science, biology, and physiology; develops students' skills and abilities in scientific methods and problem-solving, as well as an understanding of the application of science in the solution of practical problems. 
 What you bring to Green Chimneys:Education Degree/Teaching Certificate (Science) required. Prior field placement in special education preferred.  Licensure/Certification: NYSED Certification. Will consider uncertified candidates who able to meet NYS Teacher Certification requirements within 18 months.

Salary Range: $44,850 - $51,750 per year depending on certification status.
