F220164 - Full or Advanced Associate Professor of Latin American or Hispanophone Caribbean Studies - Romance Languages and Literatures

Position Summary:
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University at Buffalo, a flagship institution of the State University of New York, invites applications for a senior faculty position in Latin American and/or Hispanophone Caribbean culture. The research area is open, but scholars with a transdisciplinary approach, who work in creoles, the African diaspora, indigenous studies, as well as those who work across more than one language of the region are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a strong national and international profile and possess a distinguished record of research, publication, and professional engagement.
We seek a colleague who will anchor a field in the growth phase at UB, located within an energetic, collegial, and diverse department that has been formally identified as an area of expansion and investment by the university leadership. Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in a related discipline.
• Record of achievement in scholarship appropriate for the rank of full Professor or advanced Associate Professor at the time of appointment.
• Native or Near-Native fluency in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications:
• High-profile recognized research program.
• Strong record of research funding, fellowships, and professional recognition.
• A second working language in the field.
