About this Job:
We are looking for a motivated and organized research assistant/technician to provide scientific support to a team of scientists conducting cutting-edge and translational scientific research in hematology and blood disorders. There are opportunities to publish research articles in peer-reviewed journals. The lab is part of the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute, the research branch of the New York Blood Center. - Performing genomic analysis and other molecular bench work
- Handling human and murine tissues
- Managing laboratory resources, ordering reagents and other lab supplies
- Managing mouse colonies, including genotyping
- Analyzing and interpreting data
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Biological sciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related field. We are looking for a team player who can work well with others both within the laboratory and beyond. Must have previous hands-on lab experience handling mice. Expertise with cell culture, PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA assays and other molecular biology assays would be desired. Competitive salary.
