Clinical Trial Specialist Intern
Location: Minnetonka, MN
Duration: May - August 2023 (dates flexible)
 
About this role:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Clinical Trial Specialist Intern who is eager to learn about Boston Scientific by supporting Peripheral Interventions Clinical Project Management in the planning, execution and management of operational aspects of clinical trials. As an intern you will support product development and commercialization through the execution of Clinical Trials. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn clinical requirements to commercialize medical devices
  • With supervision participates in the execution of clinical studies in accordance with the project plans, budget and resource allocations following applicable regulatory and standard operating procedures.
  • Supports a continuous state of audit readiness
  • In collaboration with the project team, supports the proactive identification, assessment, and management of clinical study risks
  • Work with sites and Clinical Research Organizations (CRO) to field questions and support trial execution
  • Support team with CRO oversight activities
  • Interacts with various study support groups to assist achieving project deliverables
  • Attends Project Meetings and manages Meeting Minutes
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
 
Qualifications:
  • Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Science or a Healthcare related field.
  • Expresses interest in Medical Device Industry
  • Related work/intern experience a plus
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident presentation skills preferred
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, independent worker
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of disease states, medical treatments, human and/or animal anatomy & physiology and how they relate to products
  • Displays a basic understanding of data collection, analysis and interpretation tools, techniques and outcomes
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills
  • Displays unwavering initiative to proactively meet deadlines and complete tasks related to a project
  • Collaborate with stake holders and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates leadership experience via involvement in a team/club/community service
 
Quality System Requirements:
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
  • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
