Research and Instruction Librarian, The Latin American Library

The Latin American Library (LAL) at Tulane University invites applications for LAL Research and Instruction Librarian. We welcome applicants with a range of experiences, backgrounds, and interests, including recent graduates, early career professionals, and those seeking a new career path. Applicants are encouraged to share how their non-library specific skills and experiences speak to the job qualifications and needs. The successful applicant will share liaison and research support duties with other LAL librarians to Latin Americanist faculty, staff, and students across Tulane University and will be primarily responsible for classroom instruction.

A division within Tulane University Libraries (TUL), the LAL is one of the foremost collections of Latin Americana in the United States, including approximately 520,000 volumes of books and journals, 12,500 rare volumes, over 6000 linear feet of manuscripts, 4500 maps, 127,000 images, and a growing number of digital collections and resources documenting the histories, cultures and societies of Latin America, the Caribbean and their diasporas. 
The LAL employs 6 FTE (3 librarians; 3 support staff) and serves faculty and students affiliated with the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, social sciences and humanities academic departments across the University as well as visiting scholars from the United States, the Americas and Europe. The LAL has an active schedule of programming, exhibits, and invited speaker series throughout the academic year and hosts the Richard E. Salary & Benefits
The anticipated salary range is $55,000 - $67,000. Tulane University offers a competitive
benefits package that includes relocation assistance, tuition assistance, support for professional
development and travel, health insurance, and retirement contributions.
