Database Administrator

Lake 5 Media is looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team.

Duties
·        Install and maintain Oracle database on various hardware platforms (mainly Solaris and Linux)
  • Manage database backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover
  • Manage application environments (Development/QA/Production)
  • Install and test upgrades and patches
·        Assist application development in the creation of database schemes, tables, procedures, and permissions
  • Collaborate with application development teams on various database issues
  • Monitor systems and platforms for availability and performance
  • Create and maintain PL/SQL and shell scripts for various tasks
Qualifications
·        Minimum of 5 years of Oracle DBA experience preferably in a Sun / Linux environment.
·        Must have configured and implemented Oracle 10g.
·        Experience with installing and configuring both Physical and Logical Standby databases.
·        Very strong in SQL Tuning, SQL traces, SQLLDR RMAN for backup and recovery.
·        Very strong in Performance Tuning and Monitoring.
·        Must be able to write Unix shell scripts.
·        Extensive experience with PL/SQL.
·        Proficiency in Oracle on AWS a plus.
·        Experience with Parquet files a plus.
·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or engineering field.
·        2+ years of combined experience as a System Administrator and/or Network Administrator.
·        Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, plus good verbal & written communication skills.
·        Ability to succeed with little management direction
