Manager of Enrollment

Job Description

The Manager of Enrollment will serve as the leader and manager of student recruitment and enrollment for the Boston region, where we are known as Roxbury Prep. They will develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies to increase awareness in the community, build relationships with local organizations, and support prospective families, all in an effort to generate new student applications to our schools. They will report to the Senior Director of Enrollment at the Home Office and work closely with school and regional leaders in Boston, as well as members of Uncommon’s home office teams.
Student Recruitment & Enrollment
  • Build, lead, and update the regional student recruitment and enrollment strategy based on analysis of demographics, application & enrollment data, and community needs
  • Manage efforts in the region and ensure all owners including home office, regional, and school staff complete relevant responsibilities
  • Advise on marketing and media efforts in support of student recruitment, working with regional team members and Marketing to optimize strategy
  • Coordinate with regional leaders to manage student lottery and enrollment systems
  • Coordinate with school leaders to goal set and problem solve around enrollment
  • Liaise with local partners to ensure the prominence of Roxbury Prep schools among the community
  • Conduct outreach efforts in tandem with and in support of Enrollment Coordinator(s)
  • Drive new student enrollment related communication and training to school teams as needed
  • Report to Home Office, Regional, and school teams on student recruitment & enrollment progress
Team Management
  • Manage two Enrollment Coordinator(s) and support them through team meetings, individual check-ins, goal setting, professional development & training, progress monitoring, and coaching
  • Lead Enrollment Coordinator(s) to meet new student recruitment targets through outreach efforts, prospective parent engagement, facilitation of tours & open houses, and mobilization of current families to support student recruitment efforts
  • Manage staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding of enrollment staff, interns, and staff & family volunteers as needed
  • Develop and own the regional enrollment team budget
  • Additional duties and projects as needed and assigned to support Roxbury Prep school


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of professional experience working with schools and families, prefer experience in leading community organizing and engagement and/or sales
  • 2+ years of professional management experience
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Proven organization and project management skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong public speaking and engaging when presenting to large groups 
Preferred Skills & Abilities
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience with SchoolMint
  • Understanding of K-12 education landscape in Boston, preferably with charter schools
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of walking outdoors
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
Travel Requirements
  • Local travel in and around Boston area multiple times per week
