Clerk – Part Time, 19 hours per week with no City benefits

POSITION: Clerk – Part Time, 19 hours per week with no City benefits DEPARTMENT: Treasurer’s SALARY: $24.20/hour Duties: Under the direction of the City’s Treasurer, helps maintain clerical duties that include answering phones, e-mails and greeting customers. Assists in addressing a wide range of questions and concerns about Real Estate Tax, Personal Property Tax, Motor Vehicle Tax and a variety of other collection related inquiries. Learns to provide expedient responses to inquiries by phone, e-mail and walk-ins. Assists the department with general office tasks, as needed and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a minimum at least one year of relatable customer service experience, along with excellent verbal, interpersonal and organizational abilities. Capable of multitasking in a hectic, team environment. Highly energetic with a friendly disposition and possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity. Proven familiarity and skill in using Microsoft software applications. Bilingual/Multilingual desired. Experience interacting with customers/constituents preferred. Preference will be given to Malden residents.
