Credit Risk - North America Legal Entity Credit Risk - Associate

North America Legal Entity Credit Risk – Associate - Job Description

NA Legal Entity Credit Risk is part of a global private side team within the Wholesale Credit Risk organization. The group has four core mandates that include a range of responsibilities covering the legal entities (cross line of business) within their respective region.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
   1. Portfolio Mgmt. - holistic portfolio monitoring/reporting at the Legal Entity & Country level
         + LE Credit performs portfolio level activities; Analysis (variance, trend, concentration etc.); LE Reporting (design, monitoring, LE level technology requirements)
         + Elaborate materials for Board and Committee level updates (risk profiles, trends, strategy, commentary)
   2. Frameworks; partner with relevant stakeholders to drive execution and outcome
         + Lead requirements for LE credit approvals
         + Work with Credit Risk SMEs and partners to ensure internal/external deliverables are met, focal point for LE Credit matters and escalations
         + Participate on the develop of frameworks (e.g., IFRS9, ICAAP, BOCA, Related Cpty, Stress, Basel etc.)
   3. Policy (inclusive of all LOBs) for local Credit Risk processes
         + Document Owner/Contact/Liaison for local Policy/Procedure (standardization/transparency)
         + Developing and controlling content in line with firmwide practices
   4. Regulatory
         + Work on or lead the coordination and implementation of local Regulatory Requirements (existing, proposed, amended)
         + Provide regulatory interpretations prior to regulatory feedback/implementation (track and minimize bespoke processes)
         + Participate as subject matter expert on Regulatory updates/exams & Internal/External audits, to ensure consistent messaging

    * Other work includes special projects etc. that might cut across all categories.

Additionally, Legal Entity Credit Risk works closely with Credit Officers (COs), Legal Entity Risk Managers (“LERMs”), Finance, Wholesale and Firmwide Policy, Wholesale Credit Solutions (‘WCS’), Counterparty Credit Infrastructure and Capital (‘CCIC’) and Legal Entity Risk Reporting (LERR) on an ongoing basis.

Role:

The position is for an Associate within the NA Legal Entity Credit Risk team, this position will be based in New York.

Supporting and building on the core mandates both within North America and with some additional regional oversight responsibilities across the Wholesale Credit Organization (cross Line of Business support).

Support senior team members in some or all of the activities described above.

Qualifications:
    * Able to work autonomously and drive results. Must be able to take the strategy of the greater team, implement and continually drive positive change.
    * Qualitative and quantitative knowledge of credit risk management (policy and technical), develop the ability to review regulation (and regulatory requirements) in order to assess impact to Credit Risk and to translate them into actionable deliverables.
    * Ability and desire to develop understanding of risk management methodologies including derivative and traded product exposure generation, stress tests, collateral and various forms of documentation (loan and derivative) impact on credit exposure. Able to easily learn new technology platforms.
    * Strong communication skills are critical for this role as the candidate will have significant exposure to all levels of the Risk organization and functional partners.
    * Develop the ability to interface externally with multiple regulators and industry bodies. Including ability to be clear, concise, logical and thorough in articulating processes, methodologies and general governance both verbally and translated into clear concise presentations.
    * Able to connect the pieces in siloed structures and foster productive relationships across the lines of business, in a large matrixed organization.
    * Attention to detail and ability to deal with stressful situations with a mature attitude and deliver on time sensitive deliverables.
    * Strong control mind-set, demonstrable partnership skills.

Experience/Education: 4 plus years of direct experience in Credit or translatable risk disciplines. Minimum Bachelors in technical field.
