Position: Sexual Health & Youth Development Epidemiologist II
Office of Statistics and Evaluation
 
The Office of Statistics and Evaluation within the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention (BCHAP) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks to hire a talented and motivated Epidemiologist to assist with evaluation and surveillance efforts for the Office of Sexual Health and Youth Development (OSHYD). The selected candidate will work closely with program staff, conduct data collection and analysis, program and policy evaluation, data interpretation, and develop data visualization and dissemination products for diverse audiences. The Epidemiologist will also closely collaborate with youth development, young parent, and sexual and reproductive health programs and other Epidemiologists in the Bureau to support cross-cutting work and initiatives.

The BCHAP team acknowledges the history of structural racism and its impact on health and is committed to improving the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents while working toward eliminating health inequities that threaten the lives of communities of color. The Epidemiologist will work to incorporate this approach across their work.

Skills essential for success include, but are not limited to the following:
●     More than 5 years of experience in Epidemiology
●     Strong background in public health program evaluation and survey research methodology in an applied setting
●     Supervises and mentors Epidemiologist I
●     Preferred: Master of Public Health in health-related field with emphasis in Epidemiology or Biostatistics
