Job Purpose
To support the financial activities of the Business Affairs office, including budget activities, external regulatory reporting, capital projects funding, and real estate transactions.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; 2-4 year of relevant experience in accounting, budgeting, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields; strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, with attention to accuracy and detail. Experience in higher education a plus.

Assist with the preparation and review of presentations for the Budget, Finance & Facilities committee of the Board of Trustees. Create charts, graphs, diagrams, etc. that convey complex financial concepts in a simple manner. Presentations include data about operating results, state budget activities, the internal budget development process, and future projections. Prepare accurate analyses in response to specific board requests.

Assist with the preparation of responses to requests from various state agencies including the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Administration, Executive Budget Office, etc. Assist with the preparation of bond rating agency presentations. Ensure consistency between presentations and other financial records. Develop ad hoc analyses for senior leadership as needed.

Verify available funds for personnel transactions for permanent and temporary employees. Work with departments to transfer funds if needed. Verify proforma budget templates for new programs. Assist with the preparation of annual legislative appropriation requests. Support the annual budget development process.

Familiarize oneself with legal, financial, and economic concepts related to real estate transactions including property rights, financing, leasing, and property evaluation. Perform research of the local real estate market. Keep abreast of state policies and procedures. Coordinate activities with Lease Management and Facilities Planning. Coordinate efforts for current and future real estate transactions including sales of existing college assets.
