Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid Work Arrangement: Time Spent Both In-Office & Telecommuting)

Timeline:
The internship program will run from Monday, June 5th, 2023, to Friday, August 11th, 2023.

Your Day to Day:
We are hiring for 2 separate Fixed Income programs through this posting. By applying to this role you have the opportunity to be considered for both of these Analyst Programs. If you ultimately have a preference for 1 over the other, you are able to share your preferences during the application. You will have the opportunity to select: 1. Please share me with both groups, 2. Credit Research only, 3. Portfolio Analysis Group only. 
  • Credit Research Track: The Credit Research Team partners with portfolio managers to invest client funds across portfolios. This group performs fundament investment analysis with a goal of assessing value within capital structures and across industry sectors in order to identify investments that will generate superior for our clients. Responsibilities include industry data collection and trend analysis, financial statement analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, assessment of business and financial strategy, and monitoring market movements through daily meetings with portfolio managers, economists, and strategists. This team has regular interaction with the management of issuing companies, industry consultants and specialists, and Wall Street counterparts.
  • Portfolio Analysis Track: The Portfolio Analysis Group evaluates portfolio positioning with respect to risk exposures and alpha objectives, provides portfolio construction and alignment insight, and analyzes performance drivers across a multitude of investment products and processes to deliver performance attribution. Utilizing a variety of analytical tools, the group integrates specific client guidelines, objectives, and risk tolerances into the firm’s investment process to ensure complete portfolio management and analytics are in place. The group collaborates and works closely with Senior Analysts, Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers, the Quantitative Team, Credit Research, Client Advisory, and Sales and Marketing.

Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating December 2023 or Spring 2024
  • Preferred Majors:
  • Credit Research: Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics majors preferred but all majors considered.
  • Portfolio Analysis Group: Operations Research, Information/Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics majors preferred; but all majors considered
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration
  • Experience with MS Excel Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Bloomberg, and other technical data analysis/modeling tools desirable.
