Cost Analyst Intern

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Space Force Base is searching for a Cost Analyst Intern (PCIP, GS-1599-05)

Description:
The USSF is searching for a full-time summer Premier College Intern Program (PCIP) that is 10 or 12 weeks in length with the opportunity to apply to a full time permanent Junior Operations Analyst position upon graduation. In support of the Space Force's most technically advanced systems, these positions have the responsibility to complete a pre-defined intern training plan that will provide hands-on and shadowing experience to give a well-rounded experience. Some of the assignments that the training plan will include are: Develop a cost estimate for one of Space Systems Command programs, Shadow Senior Operations Research Analysts on their day to day activities, Complete the Defense Acquisition University Acquisition 1010 (DAU ACQ 1010) Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management Course, Participate in a Premier College Intern Symposium, Monitor and report contract performance, Forecast schedule requirements, Provide data driven decision support

Ideal Candidate:
U.S. Citizenship Required
This position has Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Educational Requirements for Business, Cost Estimating: Baccalaureate degree in engineering, statistics, or other Math intensive field of study.
03 semester credit hours from a calculus course
21 semester credit hours in any combination of the following fields of study: operations research, economics, mathematics, chemistry, physics or other sciences where the utilization of advanced mathematical skills in geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, and/or quantitative analysis.

Requirements:
1. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
2. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
3. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
4. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulationsto reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
5. Position is eligible for situational telework.
 
Organization:
The United States Space Force (USSF) is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips military members and civilians to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and provide space capabilities to the joint force.
