Overview

A full-time Research Analyst III position is currently available in Dr. Andrew Mayer’s laboratory at The Mind Research Network (MRN). The position will primarily be responsible for data analyses for both preclinical and clinical neuroscience data. The employee will participate in the design and execution of research studies, as well as coordinate and execute the conduct of experimental tests and procedures, including testing and evaluating current procedures and coordinates the processing and analysis of data and assists in judging the validity of experimental test data obtained.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's degree or higher in engineering, physics, neuroscience, computer science or a related scientific/health related discipline with 1-4+ years of experience in the field. One or more years of relevant research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
 
Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Python and Matlab; familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and analysis; demonstrated working knowledge of UNIX platforms; and a familiarity with neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
 
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism, excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Preferred computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Google and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
 

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Experience with statistical methods and statistical software (eg. SPSS)
Demonstrated experience in brain image-related or other time-series analysis
Experience in relevant computer software programs and have some programming experience
Experience in working in a UNIX environment
Experience with computational engineering or computational neuroscience
Experience in fMRI data analysis software, e.g., Analysis of Functional NeuroImages (AFNI), Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) or FMRIB Software Library (FSL)
