Environmental Analyst – Water Resource Protection

NEIWPCC is seeking a passionate full-time Environmental Analyst to join our expert, resourceful and collaborative team. This position will work closely with other staff and stakeholders to advance the mission and vision of NEIWPCC with a focus on the interaction between the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).

The successful candidate will assist with projects and grants focused on source water protection and contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) as a technical expert and liaison to our partners. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing workplans, budgets, and contracts with state governmental agencies, and will oversee remote NEIWPCC staff working alongside those agencies on source water protection initiatives throughout the region.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in environmental science, natural science, public health, earth science, biology, chemistry, or related field. Must have knowledge of and experience with aspects of water quality and watershed management and quality assurance plans and programs. Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills, as well as comfort working in a very collaborative environment required. Experience with budget preparation, grant writing, and contract management preferred. Candidates with alternative qualifications or who have taken a less traditional career path may be considered if an aptitude for success and a strong willingness to learn is clearly apparent. COVID-19 vaccination required.
 
This full-time position is based in NEIWPCC’s Headquarters office, located at 650 Suffolk Street, Lowell, MA 07854. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting, but with a need for travel, for which a valid driver’s license and private means of transportation is required. After six months of employment, this position may be eligible for a partial telework schedule for office-based duties, subject to approval and determined by program and office needs.
