This is a U.S. Government civilian position working within the Department of the Army within the Program Executive Office Combat Support and Combat Service Support at the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (USA TACOM LCMC) in Warren, Ml. Individual will work as an Intern Analyst supporting the Army's premier ground combat support and soldier support systems.

This summer internship is through the DoD College Acquisition Internship (DCAIP) program. Selected students will work full-time (average of 40 hours/week) over 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2023. There may be opportunities to extend beyond 12 weeks, work over winter break and to return during the summer of 2024; there may also be opportunities to continue working part time during the school year; this is determined by DoD Component need, continued eligibility, and student’s availability.

PEO CS&CSS will have interns in both Cost Estimating and Financial Management.

Cost Estimating: Operations Research Analysts use advanced mathematical and analytical methods to develop cost forecasting models, perform data analysis, and develop data visualizations to help the U.S. Army investigate complex issues, identify and solve problems, and make analysis informed decisions.

Financial Management: Resource Analysts are responsible for executing Army budget in accordance with Fiscal Law and applicable regulations, apply ingenuity to solve a wide variety of complex financial problems, perform data analysis, and develop data visualizations to help the U.S. Army make analysis informed decisions.

Interns will complete assignments and training, gaining knowledge and skills, leading to progressively more responsibility.
 
Must meet these requirements:
  • This program is for college students. To be considered, you must not graduate before May 2023.
  • Be a U.S. citizen (Interns may NOT hold dual-citizenship).
  • Be suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • Be able to obtain and hold a security clearance.
  • Be enrolled full-time as a sophomore or junior in an undergraduate program at an accredited university and have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Be available for an interview and other applicable processing between October 2022 and December 2022.
  • Be available for the 10-week summer program May through August of 2023.
  • If male, over 18 years of age, and born after December 31, 1959, you have registered with the Selective Service System.
  • To be eligible for cost estimating career field transcript must reflect that student is on track to meet following requirements upon graduation:
  1. 24 credit hours in topics related to rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis (math/statistics/economics/engineering/etc.). 
  2. 3 credit hours must be in Calculus.

 
Salary / Career Progression:
  • Based on 2022 pay tables, salary starts at $17.02 per hour. Pay tables are updated/increased every January.
