Job Purpose
The Associate Director oversees the daily operation of the Office of Prestigious Scholar Development. The incumbent actively recruits, mentors, advises and supports candidates for a variety of nationally and internationally competitive fellowships and scholarships. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining campus-wide outreach to students, faculty, and staff, managing programming, and assisting with the University’s participation in national and international scholarship competitions. This position also manages all internal competitions and processes for awards including Marshall, Rhodes, Truman, Goldwater, and Beinecke.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required. Applicants should have at least two years of experience working in this area. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience working with students applying for nationally and internationally competitive awards. Understanding of the processes involved in identifying and developing applicant pools. Experience developing communication campaigns, managing a website, and tracking results of activities toward goals.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
May be asked to travel to national meetings.

Manages the daily operations of the Office of Prestigious Scholar Development and the implementation of program initiatives. Promotes and raises awareness of nationally competitive scholarship opportunities across campus through information sessions, events, print and web materials, social media, and presentations to classes and student groups.
Collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of various aspects of the Office of Prestigious Scholar Development, including the preparation and presentation of complex reports to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. Maintains Office website and all online resources for students.
