Summer Analyst, Affiliate Investments

Core Responsibilities: Our Affiliate Investment Team provides a unique private equity investment role for college students seeking an introduction to buyside investing and value creation at a best-in-class specialist firm.

The role will focus on the execution of investments in new Affiliates and partnering with our Affiliates’ senior management teams to support their strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist with the execution of investments, including leading key parts of our due diligence process
  • Conduct industry research to support strategic investment prospecting  
  • Establish pricing and structuring recommendations for potential investments
  • Synthesize and present key elements of potential investments
  • Assist with key strategic projects at existing Affiliates and at AMG
 
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Pro-active team player with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong cultural fit with AMG values of treating others with respect and consideration
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
 
Experience:
  • Progress towards bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials (background in finance or economics preferred but not required)
  • Previous experience or course work related to (i) business modeling & valuation, (ii) financial analysis and accounting, (iii) asset management etc. (helpful, but not required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) (required)
