Elementary ESL Teacher | Lawrence Public Schools

The elementary ESL teacher will support students learning English as a second language by providing differentiated academic services both individually and in small groups as well as in the general classroom setting. The ESL teacher will ensure all students are receiving and are supported in accessing rigorous, standards-based instruction through collaboration with the ESL team and grade-level colleagues.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to,

- Standards-based instruction of students across multiple learning formats and settings

- Preparing individualized plans for students, including establishing appropriate, measurable goals and monitoring students' progress towards meeting them

- Regularly meeting with colleagues to plan for appropriate services and modifications in support of students

- Designing and implementing curricula and activities to meet both Massachusetts WIDA standards frameworks

- Designing and implementing assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;

- Examining assessment data to refine curriculum and modify instructional practices;

- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders

- Complying with school, district, and statewide policies and regulations;
