HBO/HBO Max Content Strategy & Planning Intern - Spring 2023

The Job:

Content Strategy for HBO Max is the team responsible for driving strategy around licensed movies, series, and specials for HBO Max SVOD service. Team evaluates and catalogs inventory to inform needs and opportunities of series, movies, and short form content.
Responsibilities

The Daily Responsibilities:

  • Research into content and makeup of primary SVOD, AVOD, and FAST competitors including recent news and performance
  • Competitive OP tracking and metadata input into data management system
  • Support team in preparing upcoming competitive releases list for company distro
  • Reformatting existing PowerPoint presentations into new team format
  • Ad hoc research across projects to support content strategy team
  • Analysis and preparation of research highlights summary, identifying top points across weekly performance updates
  • Volume or performance data for ad hoc requests or to support team projects
  • Follow industry news with an emphasis on emerging trends and streaming landscape
 
The Essentials:
 
  • Currently enrolled in college with major or focus in media, television, communications, or business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail Ability to self-motivate and manage time on their own in a virtual work environment
  • Passion for the television, streaming, and media landscape
  • Positive attitude and work ethic in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage time on their own in a virtual work environment
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (18 years or older)
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
 
About the Internship Program:

  • Our Spring 2023 program is a 12 Week Internship that will run from Monday, February 6th through Friday, April 28th, 2023
  • Part time-schedule (16-24 hours/week) required
  • Company-issued computer or secured remote access provided for the duration of the internship program
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive salary. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
