EEG Technician II Reg

Overview

Participate as an integral member of the EEG Department by performing routine and complex EEGs, video EEG monitoring, and continuous EEG monitoring. Both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, emergency department's and intensive care units.

Responsibilities


Performing routine and complex EEGs, LTM EEG monitoring.

Always measure and mark patients' head and eliminates artifact to ensure quality. Perform tests to meet professional standards and/or other regulatory needs, including impedance checks. Re-arrange patient care schedules according to departmental and/or patient needs. Contact appropriate personnel when issues arise

Maintains EEG equipment.

Ensure equipment readiness and accuracy. Troubleshoot to resolve equipment issues. Seek ways to improve proficiencies, reduce costs and improve customer experiences

Prepares test reports and maintains test data.

Obtain patient history to include medications and pertinent data to the patient background. Ensures results are reported to physicians to optimize turn-around time. Take ownership to ensure charges are captured in a timely manner. Perform other administrative assignments. Archive data monthly. Complete reports and archive studies to ensure optimal testing speed.

Maintains departmental supplies and cleanliness of the environment.

Proactively seek out equipment that reduces the cost/improves patient care while meeting regulatory requirements. Ensure best cleaning practices are used for infection prevention. Create more efficient ways to keep supplies available and stored in a clean environment.

Performs other department tasks to meet departmental needs.

Educate others on EEGs, rhythms, long-term monitoring, or other EEG modalities

Qualifications


EDUCATION:Required:

Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics; or a combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE:Required:

One or more years of experience as an Electroencephalogram Technologist
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: REQUIRED

Drivers License | Valid Drivers License

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Credentialed as a Registered EEG Technologist

PREFERRED:

CLTM credentials
