Scientist/ Senior Scientist
Overview:
Celldex Therapeutics is looking for an experienced Scientist or early career Senior Scientist, specializing in the immune-inflammatory and immune-oncology space, to join our Pre-Clinical Research and Development group. The Scientist/Senior Scientist will contribute technical expertise and scientific knowledge towards the development of antibody therapeutics against a variety of targets in cancer and inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will be an experienced and motivated laboratory researcher and will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in the discovery and testing of novel cancer and inflammatory biologics.
Position Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including RNA isolation, PCR, cDNA sequencing, vector and primer design, DNA and protein sequence analysis, and recombinant protein expression.
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, protein purification and characterization.
- Design, perform, and analyze in vitro experiments (ELISA, etc.) to address scientific or technical questions. Develop new methods or assays as needed.
- Communicate results effectively directly to supervisor or in a group setting.
- Perform other additional job-related duties as required.
Education/Experience/Required Skills:
- BA/BS or MS in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related field with 2+ years of related experience.
- A strong understanding and experience with molecular biology techniques
- Experience in immuno-oncology, inflammation, molecular biology, and cell biology preferred.
- Experience in antibody and protein expression and purification is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills required, as is excellent attention to details.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
