Senior Research Support Associate

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and indirectly to assigned faculty, the Research Support Associate will work with a group of faculty in regards to both administrative and research-related needs. The Research Support Associate will start during Spring 2023.

This is a full-time, one-year appointment that is renewable annually (contingent on funding). We strongly prefer a commitment of two years. The hourly pay range is $21.50 – $23/hr.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**)

  • Will assist a group of faculty in various research related projects that may include statistical analysis of data and other information in relation to faculty research projects. This may include preparing tables for papers in process of publication and other published working papers. May assist in proofreading academic papers and with the fielding of experiments and surveys for faculty projects.
  • Will be responsible for general administrative duties for a group of faculty, generally including managing calendars and appointments, preparing and processing travel arrangements, preparing expenses for processing, and managing faculty websites with publications and course materials. Will be expected to attend training in financial and web based applications to process faculty related research expenses and reconciling of accounts as needed.
  • Will assist in class and seminar preparation for faculty.
  • Responsible for preparing, proofreading and transmitting recommendation letters and other correspondence as needed.
  • Will also support the administrative activities of Blueprint Labs through operations, events, and research grants.
  • Other departmental duties as needed or required.
 

Qualifications & Skills

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in economics or a related social science discipline preferred.

Skills: Knowledge of social science research and data collection methods (qualitative and quantitative). Strong skills in statistical analysis (Stata or R) and data management (spreadsheets and databases) is beneficial. Position requires strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, and work independently as well as part of a team.
