F220201 - Assistant Professor of Teaching - Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering

Position Summary:
The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering (CSEE) at University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for a non-tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Teaching (Lecturer). We are particularly looking for candidates who have a passion for teaching, can operate effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty members, and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential within a professional culture that values equity, diversity, and inclusion. Candidates are expected to have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Duties include:
 (1) teaching and development of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, particularly in the areas of environmental engineering, water resources engineering, and/or sustainability; and
 (2) Departmental service, which might include but is not limited to: student advisement at the undergraduate and graduate level; management of industry internships; coordination of laboratory and instrumentation upgrades; participation in initiatives that promote student excellence and diversity enhancement; and assistance in preparing and managing external grant proposals related to pedagogical and curricular innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in civil engineering, structural engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, service, and mentoring. Candidates should be internationally recognized scholars as evidenced by impactful publications and a sustained externally funded research program.

Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure as a registered Professional Engineer (PE)
