Job Description: This position will provide services to research studies that are supported by the Mitochondrial Function and In Vivo Imaging (MF-II) Core of the CardioPulmonary Vascular Biology (CPVB) COBRE at the Providence VA Medical Center. This position will be overseen by the Core PI, Dr. Peng Zhang, and work closely with the Laboratory Manager and the CPVB Administration to coordinate core services, conduct experiments, keep records, order supplies, and communicate with core users.  
Specific responsibilities include:
-       Lab supply and consumables tracking and ordering
-       Cell culture (primary cells and cell lines)
-       Immunofluorescent staining and imaging, Western Blotting
-       Cryosection and histology staining of tissue slides
-       Rodent handling, anesthesia, and tissue collection
-       Mitochondrial function analysis such as Seahorse XF Assays
-       Data analysis, record keeping, new protocol development and testing
-       Assistance in the development of reports and presentations
-       Providing technical trainings to others

-       Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field. 
-       Prior working experience in academic basic research laboratories preferred, but not required
