Research Assistant

Ocean State Research Institute of the Providence Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center: Providence is a unique research site in the heart of academic-rich southern New England. Ocean State Research Institute is the non-profit research organization of the Providence VA Medical Center. The fundamental mission of research at the VA is to advance the healthcare of Veterans.

 

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Research Operations, the Research Assistants will have the opportunity to work with a team of Physician Investigators and Coordinators on trials in the fields of cardiology, oncology, dermatology, and mental health and more. He/She will provide support on multiple national studies involving primary data collection, as well as drug and medical device evaluation. Opportunities will include attendance at academic presentations, monthly brown bag discussions, and educational and professional development sessions on campus and those offered by our affiliates.

Research Assistants will provide all aspects of support on clinical research protocols. Recruits, schedules and interviews patients, coordinates patient recruitment to ensure the enrollment goals are met for multiple projects. Facilitates patient visits by performing protocol specific tests and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare or research related field is required

Prefer minimum 2 years of experience as a research assistant for studies involving human subjects.
