Intern - Construction Dispute Advisory - Delay Analysis (Spring/Summer 2023)

Responsibilities

Secretariat International partners with general contractors, owners, engineers, and their legal counsel to guide them through litigation/arbitration proceedings related to construction disputes. Our experts in have testified across the globe on many of the largest construction delay and economic damages matters. Our dispute services include: forensic scheduling, project cost/quantum analyses, and liability reviews. Due to continued growth, we are seeking professionals with planning/scheduling experience and a broad understanding of construction and engineering concepts to join our team. Successful candidates should possess experience in construction planning and scheduling as well as strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills. Tasks, usually in the context of disputes, may span from research and fact-finding, to detailed analysis, quantification of delay and damages, economic modeling, and case strategy.


Qualifications

  • Currently in Junior or Senior year
  • Engineering or Construction Management related major preferred
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Strong grasp of basic construction and scheduling principles
  • Proficiency with relevant office PC applications, particularly MS Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong preference for previous internship experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to commit to a regular part-time or full-time work schedule in one of our offices
*HYBRID - Full-time roles required to work in the office at least 3 days per week
