Spring 2023 Intern - Business Development & Fundraising (Memphis Office)
As an ALSAC intern, you will learn from experts who have helped us become one of America’s top healthcare charities while supporting the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Our spring program offers a 10 week fully immersed experience. You will be assigned a day to day manager in your industry and our program manager will lead you with networking and professional development events.
- Start Date: January 27, 2023
- End Date: April 7, 2023
- Hours: 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
- Pay Rate: All ALSAC interns are paid. Pay rate is based on work location.
- Work Location: Memphis, TN (Office in Crosstown Concourse Building)
Requirements:
- A passion for our mission!
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and in good standing.
- Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.
- Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
Field Development creates and executes shared experiences to acquire and cultivate donors in a given territory. The Delta Area office focuses on funding the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with various programs, including Dinners, Galas & Golf events, St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaigns, Youth programs and St. Jude Walk/Runs.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement strategies with lead staff to maximize fundraising and marketing efforts of various events and programs.
- Assist lead staff with key event preparation and support for St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaigns in Jackson, MS, Tupelo, MS, and Memphis, TN.
- Assist with social media strategy using a content calendar for Facebook and Instagram.
- Solicit donations and community outreach opportunities for various St. Jude programs.
- Assist in cultivation efforts for peer-to-peer fundraisers for various St. Jude programs.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of Delta Area newsletters, press releases, and other program specific marketing materials.
- Attend program specific meetings and events (when appropriate and applicable).
Majors preferred: Business Management/Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, Communications, and any other related major.
Skills preferred: Social Media, Microsoft Suite, Marketing, Communications, Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple projects at one time.
