IT Audit Intern

For this 10-week paid internship we are looking for interns to specialize in the following areas: IT, Finance, Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Strategy, and Supply Chain. The internship kicks off by pairing you with a mentor who will guide your experience as you work on a project tackling some of our top business initiatives. The internship will end with the opportunity to present your solutions to our top executives.

Summary   
The Internal Audit IT intern will be joining a high-performing team focused on helping the business achieve its objectives by mitigating risk and identifying opportunities for technology and process improvements. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, wants to learn about all areas of IT and the business and who enjoys problem-solving. You will be  learning and working under experienced leaders who are passionate about team member growth and development. 
 
The IT Audit Intern will be involved with the planning and execution of IT audits. The Intern will help the audit team identify risk and controls, evaluate the design and effectiveness of the controls, and help identify opportunities to improve the organization through that audit work.  The intern will also be involved in special projects / team improvement activities.  Throughout, the intern will learn audit, risk, GRC, IT, and other key areas in support for their future career goals. 
 
General Job Responsibilities 
Under the supervision and guidance of the manager and senior internal auditor, the intern will be responsible for the following:  

  • Assists with planning, executing, and documenting audit test work using a risk-based approach to help identify improvement opportunities and diagnose IT risks.  
  • Helps propose viable recommendations and solutions to identified audit issues and process improvements. 
  • Provides support on special projects and other department initiatives 
  • Develops a working knowledge and understanding of the Company.  Actively networking/ developing relationships within the business 
  • Meets deadlines, adhering to department and professional standards 

Qualifications 
  • Current students pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree in Management Information System, Computer Science, or a related business / technical field 
  • Basic understanding on Information technology concepts 
  • Understanding on how to utilize Microsoft Office Tools 
  • Rising Senior at the time of application 
  • Can successfully navigate through ambiguity by asking questions, thinking critically, and using problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across different teams and functions 
  • Outstanding written skills – Ability to document complex processes and concepts clearly, through process maps and report writing 
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Highly motivated/ driven. Takes a proactive approach to assignments with the ability to work independently
