Research Technician II - Center for Genomic Medicine

The Claussnitzer Laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic candidate to join our research group. The Claussnitzer lab at MGH will build a large-scale biobank of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells and other specimens with the aim to perform population-scale natural genetic variation screens. This effort will seek to systematically link genetic variation to molecular and cellular phenotypes in the context of metabolic disease. We are looking for a talented Research Technician I/II who will contribute to build cell-based biobank and additional research efforts aimed at mapping genetic variations in metabolic cell types and understanding genetic regulation and cellular programs in health and metabolic diseases. This candidate will apply technologies combining the isolation of mesenchymal stem cells from different adipose depot, the isolation of hepatocytes and preparation of histology sections, execution of several molecular biology techniques to systematically link genetic risk variants to their effector genes and measure the impact on cellular metabolic functions using targeted assays and high-throughput and high-content profiling methodologies.
