Senior Oracle Database Administrator SENIO001839
SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team! The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for maintaining data integrity for databases in multiple environments from Development to Production. This position will require extensive knowledge of Oracle and SQL.
Responsibilities:
- Perform upgrades of Oracle databases (currently using 19c)
- Perform system patching
- Research and apply security updates according to Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Manage database access
- Identify opportunities to maintain and optimize database performance
- Pursue opportunities to maximize database uptime
- Reorganize data in the database
- Create database backups
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
- Produce reports, visualizations, and dashboards for databases
- Automate repeated tasks within the database
- Train team members
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience with Oracle databases
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL Server tools
- Demonstrable knowledge of configuration management best practices
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience using Powershell and Unix scripting tools
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Relational Database Services (RDS)
- Advanced experience and/or certifications in AWS
- Oracle Certified Professional Certification
