This is a position for a research technician in the Paralkar Lab, a basic science biology lab at the University of Pennsylvania that performs cutting-edge research into hematopoiesis (blood cell development) and leukemia in humans and mice. The technician will engage in and assist in research using a variety of approaches including cell lines, mouse models, human leukemia cells, RNA and ChIP-sequencing, and CRISPR-based studies to dissect the mechanisms by which transcription factors and chromatin proteins regulate gene expression in normal and malignant hematopoiesis. Technician duties will include maintenance of the mouse colony, placing orders for lab supplies, ensuring lab safety compliance, and managing lab equipment. We are looking for a full-time Research Specialist B starting winter 2022 or spring 2023. The ideal applicant for this position will be an academically outstanding college graduate, passionate about science, interested in cultivating cutting-edge research skills. Applicant must have experience working in a molecular biology lab in the past, either as a student or as a technician. Experience with mouse research is a strong plus.
