Job Title: Intern – Short-Term Temporary (STT) Consultant

The Economics and Private Sector Development Vice Presidency (CEDVP) is responsible for identifying and delivering on private sector diagnostic needs, drawing on resources across the WBG, to grow IFC's capacity to present private sector perspectives in SCD/CPF and country strategies; developing sector economic analyses and an ex ante project assessment framework to help guide project selection, complementing our expertise in supporting and monitoring project implementation; as well as identifying and strategically driving policy engagements that create and grow new markets for the private sector. Within CEDVP, the Development Impact Measurement department is responsible of generating sector economics analyses, as well as implementing ex ante projects development impact assessment and ex post monitoring through the new Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring frameworks AIMM.

The STT will be part of the Impact Measurement team within the Development Impact Measurement department. The STT will support the design and implementation of IFC’s new development impact framework – AIMM (Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring). Based on specific needs, the STT will also conduct or support specific applied research and knowledge generation activities in which the team is involved, as well as to other cross-sectoral tasks within the department.

Duties and Accountabilities
·      Support the implementation of AIMM – development and maintenance of sector-specific and thematic tools and databases, that facilitate the projects’ development impact ex-ante assessments under AIMM as well as the ex-post monitoring of impact claims. This may also include additional cross-sectoral tasks related to AIMM scoring analyses and reporting tools.
·      Conduct or support sector analysis and knowledge generation functions of the department, through data gathering and cleaning, literature reviews, quantitative analytic and econometric estimations, and economic modeling work.
 
Selection Criteria
·      Experience with data/evidence collection, market research and/or market assessment work is desired.
·      Proven strong analytical skills, especially Excel.
·      Basic understanding of issues relevant to economic development.
·      Awareness of a variety of development impact assessment tools and frameworks and able to conduct basic project impact analysis.
·      Ability to manipulate, document and present economic or other data as input to broader analytical work. Has strong data gathering, cleaning and management skills.
·      Strong team player, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
·      Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
