Grants Administrator, Post-Award

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory announces an exciting career opportunity for a Grants Administrator in our Office of Sponsored Programs. This position supports the management of CSHL’s $100+ million sponsored research budget, collaborating with Investigators and the Laboratory’s administrative team.


The Grants Administrator will have post-award grants management responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Ensuring that institutional policies, laws and regulations regarding sponsored research support
are proactively addressed.
• Coordinating the preparation, compilation and submission of progress report documentation,
which may include preparing budgets, other support documentation as well as research compliance related records.
• Maintaining and monitoring scientific reporting schedules and proactively engaging research
investigators and their administrators in upcoming scientific reporting obligations.
• Interfacing with CSHL investigators and collaborating institutions to identify and support the needs of funding
organization for prior approval requests that include carryover, re-budgeting and no-cost
extensions.
• Training institutional staff in the use of electronic grant application and management systems,
assisting with the preparation of research funding information for the CSHL Annual Report as well as other OSP related reporting functions.

Position Requirements
Education: Undergraduate degree required with finance, biological research and/or accounting background a plus.

Experience: 1-3 years of grant related experience preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication and computer skills, ability to work under deadline pressures, and strong organizational skills are required. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks and deadlines.
