Financial Coordinator

This position is hybrid eligible.

Job Description Summary
Provide financial, administrative and functional support to the department/ school. This involves analyzing and monitoring expenditures, reconciliation of funds to ensure they are aligned with the projections. Work with the finance team during the year- end closing process.Job Description
Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares and/or analyzes financial reports, budgets and revenue projections. Assists with the preparation of the annual budget, monitors budget, and reallocates funds as necessary.
  • Performs payroll functions for group/office/department. Prepares and authorizes financial and/or human resources transactions. Ensures completion of appropriate forms to process payroll and human resources actions.
  • Maintains filing system for all departmental financial records and personnel records. Designs and maintains spreadsheets and databases for tracking and compliance with university and outside requirements/policies.
  • Processes all purchasing requests and maintains all purchasing related tracking and record keeping. Serves as primary contact with outside vendors and coordinates repairs to equipment. Assists in obtaining bids and negotiating prices with new and existing vendors
  • Serves as liaison with business/financial administrators and other departments. Responds to a wide range of inquiries from faculty and staff.
  • Oversees and/or supervises lower level office staff. May participate in and/or conduct performance and staff development plans.
  • Participates in training and university policy meetings and seminars. Keeps abreast of new and existing policies and procedures.
  • Exercises resource stewardship to ensure compliance with related policies and procedures. Reports known or suspected irregularities to the immediate supervisor or senior leader
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
