Grant Writer and Marketing Manager

Position:         Grants & Marketing Manager
Hours:            Full-time 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends, as needed:
Reports to:     Director of Advancement & External Communications
Salary:            $52,000 a year

Position Summary: We are looking for a Grants & Marketing Manager that can lead the grants and marketing process. With the goal of securing new grants and expanding the agency’s base of followers and donors the role will split between the activities of grant writing and assisting in the promotional awareness and social marketing activities.
In this position, you will co-lead our external communications and produce high-quality content that engages funders, sponsors, and participants, and builds organizational brand recognition. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator (written and verbal) with brilliant presentation and organizational skills.
 
 
 
Grant Writer Responsibilities:
·        Maintains quality results by using templates: following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
·        Writes revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials
·        Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
·        Prepares proposals by determining concepts, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals. Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
·        Research, write, edit, and oversee production and distribution of grants, e-newsletter and participant/donor print mailer campaigns.

Marketing Responsibilities:
·        Research, write, and collect program case stories and photographs to create informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials such as bylined articles, white papers, print and online content and website management.
·        Maintain social media platforms (including website, Twitter page, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube)
·        Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build donor and corporate engagement, program/brand awareness, platform engagement and movement across all channels.
·        Manage social media presence and online advertising campaigns while also developing media partnerships, platforms, and lists observing media activity reports.
·        Update company website with new content following SEO practices
·        Build brand awareness through online advertising, social media, and industry placements
Qualities and Preferred Skills:
·        Knowledge of digital design tools, search engine optimization (SEO), web analytics (Google Analytics) and Google AdWords, content management tools (WordPress), and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Adobe InDesign / Lightroom / Photoshop/Canva/ Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / Social Pilot/ Microsoft Office Suite/ Dropbox/ Google Suites
  • Critical thinking skills are essential. Highly flexible, organized, and able to prioritize the urgent and important. Respectful, not easily flustered, mature, good-natured.
  • Proven project management skills. Significant experience managing freelance writers, graphic designers, and videographers. Proficiency in digital marketing (content, systems, campaigns, measurement)
  • Keen listener, detail-oriented, able to multi-task. Must thrive working independently while enjoying collaborating with staff and vendors.
