GBFB is considered an essential response organization in times of disaster. As such, Team Members are expected to report to GBFB locations as required, after securing the safety of their families, and may be asked to perform duties that are critical (but outside of their regularly assigned duties) in times of disaster.

Job Title: Assistant Manager of Community Investment 
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Manager of Community Investment
 
Position Summary: GBFB expert on direct distribution models like mobile markets and CSFP. Oversee the day-to-day administrative responsibilities of direct distribution programming. Manage partnerships with existing direct distribution partners and onboard new distribution partners within the Eastern Massachusetts Community Collaborate across the team to identify opportunities for new partnerships in underserved communities. Ensure GBFB’s direct distribution programing is client conscious and results in equitable and diverse efforts.
 
 Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage direct distribution partnerships and ensure partnerships are productive and agreements are upheld including being on site during distribution as required for training or quality purposes.
  • Perform the administrative responsibilities related to direct distribution initiatives including order entry, customer service, and monthly service reporting.
  • Oversee components of Commodity Supplemental Food Program, including partner recruitment and training, relationship management, site and client compliance, food distribution, and record keeping.
  • Train program partners in online client management software and provide ongoing assistance. Ensure data accuracy and manage client recertification process in partnership with direct distribution sites.
  • Train new site coordinators and volunteer leaders in direct distribution models.
  • Assess and evaluate current partnerships to increase reach/effectiveness of program sites. Tasks include, but are not limited to, running internal data reports and working with sites to identify areas of growth, creating plans and providing ongoing follow up.
  • Document program partner interactions in Salesforce and share pertinent programs updates across the Community Impact team.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team regarding grant applications, fundraising opportunities, and donor volunteer experiences, etc.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and maintain open communication both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for Programs.
  • Act as an area specific expert and offer essential support to partners is assigned region including conducting compliance visits and responding to regional needs as they relate to enabling, delivery, grant investments, best practices, etc. 
  • Coordinate with the Inventory and Food Acquisition teams to move short coded product via program partners.
  • Maintain Food Safety Certification. 
  • Ensure AIB standards are maintained.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through, time management, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated resiliency; strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with program partners and community organizations and achieve a positive outcome. 
  • Sensitivity to issues affecting low-income, food insecure populations. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, required.
  • Experience with CRM software, like Salesforce, preferred.
  • Multiple languages, spoken and written, a plus.
 
Mandatory Education and Experience:
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • 3 years of experience working with nonprofit service providers or a customer service setting, required.
  • Foodservice, food safety, or other directly related work experience, a plus.
  • Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at GBFB.
 
Physical Demands:
  • Lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit up to three hours at a time.
  • Ability to work within an open air/cubicle environment.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Some weekend and evening hours, required.
