Role
MacKay Shields seeks to recruit an Consultant Relations professional to join the firm's consultant relations team. This individual will focus on East Coast consultants and will also have some exposure to consultants West Coast consultants through the primary/secondary coverage model. A comprehensive understanding of the consultant community, some knowledge of fixed income, and excellent relationship development skills are required. The successful candidate must also be a collaborative individual who will foster strong working relationships with team members.
 
The position is based in New York City.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with the investment consultant community.
  • Understand the preferences of the different consultants and deploy that intelligence across the firm to enable a focused sales and marketing effort and targeted product positioning.
  • Maintain ongoing and up-to-date knowledge of MacKay Shields' investment strategies and performance.
  • Communicate with investment teams to ensure the proper articulation of the various investment strategies.
  • Identify and act on new opportunities in the evolving consultant relations landscape.
  • Represent MacKay Shields to the investment consultant community and at industry forums and events.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork and exceptional service orientation through supporting MacKay Shields' values and mission. 
 
Ideal Experience
  • 10+ years of industry experience with at least three years focused on working with the investment consultant community.
  • Track record of developing and maintaining relationships with East Coast investment consultants.
  • Strong academic credentials; advanced degree/designation a plus.
