Duties
The appointees will be responsible for incubating and developing novel materials as well as scalable process for next generation lithium ion or lithium metal battery applications. His/her core duties include:
- Develop core technologies related to next generation rechargeable lithium batteries for sustainable growth;
- Responsible for project incubations, project proposals, project implementation, and reports/presentations to both ITC and industrial collaborators;
- Responsible for commercializing developed technologies to actual products;
- Lead and develop team of high competence and high level of expertise;
- Intellectual property application and management for various projects;
- Build clients' accounts and expand collaboration network; and
- Responsible for ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor and other duties as required.
Requirements
- MPhil and/or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering or Polymer Science and Engineering is required;
- At least 5 years R&D and supervisory experience in development of next generation rechargeable lithium ion battery or lithium metal battery related projects, including engineering or nano-structuring of high ED lithium metal / Si anode, high voltage Li rich cathode materials, solid state electrolyte etc. preferably in industry;
- Track record of commercialization of R&D results;
- Strong sense of IP filing strategy;
- Strong independent working ability and solid leadership to lead a research team;
- Creative & critical thinking and good troubleshooting skills;
- Must have a sense of ownership for his/her work;
- Good interpersonal, negotiation, and coordination skills;
- Articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search;
- Track record of successfully application and completion of ITF projects as PC is a plus.
- Able to work under pressure; and
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, proficient in Putonghua is an advantage.
