At Warner Music Group, we’re a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we know that each talent makes our collective bolder and brighter. We are guided by four core principles that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:

  • Music is Everything: Music is our passion, and we can never get enough. Tastes, trends, and tech will change, but great artists and songwriters will always be our driving force.
  • Global Growth, Local Expertise: Music is a global language. Through communication and collaboration, our success can come from anywhere and translate everywhere.
  • Innovation and Insight: Pushing the boundaries requires the best information and the boldest imagination. We use both to create the future.
  • Empowered by People: Like the artists we serve and the music they make, our differences make us stronger. This is a place where every talent can belong and build a career.
We remain committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We know it fosters a culture where you can truly belong, contribute, and grow. We encourage applications from people of any age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, disability, veteran status, and any other characteristic or identity.
Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.
Job Title: Technical Business Analyst
A little bit about our team:
The candidate for this position will assist the Product Owner as a liaison between the Global Technology team and our supply chain operations and label representative teams. They will participate in requirements gathering from these groups, understanding their needs and work with the Product Owner & Technical Lead to propose solutions which fit each business request. The ability to take a granular requirement and look at it from a wide lens to foresee unintended, negative impacts as a result of a request is instrumental for this position. The ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task and track the progress of various development requests across multiple development teams.
In addition to new requirements, the candidate will also be involved in issue resolution and bug fixes. The ability to triage issues, identify system issues vs. user error, escalate to the necessary development team and see a fix through to completion is necessary. The candidate will need to be able to classify if a bug is a critical issue that needs attention immediately or if there are workarounds which can be done in the interim until the issue is resolved.
Being self-driven, having willingness to engage with users and the ability to pivot and change directions are essential in this fast-paced environment where business priorities are ever-changing. The candidate must have a familiarity with digital music distribution, including the latest entertainment formats, trends and business models.
Here you’ll get to:

  • Participate in business requirements gathering specifically with a concentration of order management within the digital supply chain.
  • Create technical user stories in coordination with Product Owner & Technical Lead.
  • Participate in regular standup & sprint planning sessions, ensuring developers are delivering code constantly and consistently, in-line with finalized requirements & business direction.
  • Perform post-development Quality Assurance testing to ensure functionality has been developed to required specifications.
  • Assist Product Owner with pre-deployment demos and post-deployment functionality rollouts to global business users.
  • Support Product Owner & Technical Lead as key advisor by identifying system efficiencies and functionality enhancements that should be considered for the digital supply chain.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with operations teams, release management teams and tech leads from other business groups to discuss operational issues and strategize future system enhancements.
  • Provide operational support for business users, specifically with a concentration of order management within the digital supply chain.
  • Triage and document reported system issues to identify root-cause of reported problems. Initiate bug-fix tickets to track development when needed and oversee ticket through to Production rollout and resolution.
About you:

  • 3-4 years of experience working with technology teams with a concentration in application development
  • 2+ years of experience in basic management and business skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology; including tools like Atlassian JIRA & Confluence
  • Basic understanding of XML structure and tools (Oxygen, XMLSpy) with DDEX knowledge desirable
  • Working knowledge of basic SQL queries and Oracle development tools (Toad, SQLDeveloper, DBeaver) desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of digital media order management applications, functions & processes preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Music Business or similar discipline
