Monitoring and Evaluation Intern

About the Organization:
Oorja is a Farming-as-a-Service company that addresses the energy, agrarian and climate crises faced by smallholder farmers in the Global South. We provide solar-powered irrigation, milling, and cooling services on a pay-per-use basis to smallholder farmers who were previously reliant on fossil fuels. Decentralised solar power is a suitable technology, but the initial cost of investment for these systems is prohibitively high. Oorja has pioneered an inclusive business model that removes the upfront cost barrier and reduces on-farm energy costs by up to 50%. This will accelerate the adoption of clean energy among farmers with limited budgets, landholding, and social capital.

Internship Description:
The intern would engage closely with the impact management team at Oorja. The intern is expected to understand the current impact monitoring practices at Oorja, identify the gaps, and provide solutions to close the gaps identified. The idea would be to streamline, document, and enhance the overall impact assessment & monitoring of various services at Oorja.

Intern Qualifications:
Current undergraduate or recent graduate in environmental science, engineering, or another relevant discipline.

Skills in impact monitoring, data analysis, and report writing would be useful;

Keen interest in agriculture, clean energy, climate mitigation, South & Southeast Asia

Time Commitment: 30 hours / week
