Social Media Specialist

JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for American Prairie’s brand and awareness in all aspects of social media. This role is the social media voice for the organization through the creation and curation of compelling content across appropriate and current social media channels.
 
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
  • Develop and deploy content through all social media channels.
  • Plan and manage the social media strategy and calendar to drive awareness, affinity, and engagement for American Prairie.
  • Initiate and maintain a steady stream of content and ideas from staff in the field and in the community to demonstrate American Prairie’s unique value proposition.
  • Craft compelling content for social media channels, outside media partners, and digital deployment.
  • Keep current and knowledgeable of the latest social media trends and opportunities.
  • Analyze campaign results to continually optimize social reach and effectiveness.
  • Represent the American Prairie brand and voice in all communications and marketing assets.
  • Produce written copy and develop content for campaigns and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required
  • Enthusiasm for American Prairie’s mission, goals and culture and positive representation of American Prairie.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications or equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Work experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, or communications.
  • Demonstrated track record of social media skillset and interest.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate engagingly, inspiringly and professionally.
  • Strong project, time, and resource management and problem-solving skills to deliver projects on-time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated, creative, and organized self-starter with attention to detail.
  • Occasional travel, typically driving within Montana.
  • Valid Driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to drive.

Preferred
  • Knowledge, understanding and familiarity with the state of Montana.
