Bilingual Child and Family Social Worker

We’re looking for a culturally-sensitive Bilingual Child and Family Social Worker to coordinate services and plan for children who are referred through social service, probation or mental health departments and are at risk of stepping up to or returning to institutions from family or family-like settings. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. The Child and Family Social Worker works closely with the youth and caregivers to ensure that their vision leads the team.

ABOUT WRAPAROUND
Seneca's Wraparound programs offer family-centered, individualized, culturally relevant, and strength-based support to families with complex and enduring needs. Wraparound works in close partnership with Department of Family and Children Services, Juvenile Probation, Behavioral Health, and group homes, providing strengths-based and outcome-oriented alternatives to group care placements for children and youth by drawing upon community and family strengths. Treatment and support services are tailored to address behaviors and meet family needs, even as they change over time.
Services are provided in the community: in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. for youth who are at-risk of being placed in out of home care or are stepping down from a higher level of care.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and caregivers on a weekly basis to provide coaching and counseling support that will further treatment goals.
  • Develop Child and Family teams for the purpose of treatment planning and support.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers.
  • Coordinate and implement overall treatment and services for assigned clients under supervision of a clinician.
  • Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate.
  • Intervene with the clients’ behavior management programs as needed.
  • Chart mental health notes, treatment plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in crisis response system.
  • Participate in individual and/or group supervision.
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing the Seneca mission and philosophy.
  • Function as team leader and uphold the ideals of the program.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be eligible for MHRS certification (4 years of full-time clinical experience in a mental health setting).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities required.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and insurable under Seneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
PREFERRED
  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care.

Schedule

  • Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work some evening and weekend hours as needed
  • 5 weeks of Paid Time off and 11 Paid Holidays.
