Victim Service Communications Intern

Job Overview: The Victim Service Communications Intern is a member of MOVA’s Communications and Training Team and reports to the Communications and Training Specialist. The Communications and Training Team is responsible for planning and implementing professional development and community education opportunities for Massachusetts victim service providers, allied professionals, and survivors. The C&T Team also oversees all agency external communications, including social media and agency websites. The Victim Service Communications Intern will support ongoing priorities of the team. The ideal candidate for the position is an effective communicator who understands how to manage their time and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Help produce the monthly Victim Services Bulletin
  • Support the planning and execution of internal and external trainings and events, notably MOVA’s Victim Rights Month events that occur in April
  • Record minutes of MOVA’s public body meetings
  • Provide administrative support to the Communications and Training Team
  • Work with the Digital Media Coordinator on social media maintenance as needed
  • Assist various teams and projects throughout the agency as needed at the direction of the Communications and Training Specialist
  • Support the Communications and Training Team in any additional responsibilities, as identified by the Director of Communications and Training and Communications and Training Specialist

Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in web-based communication platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and preferably Constant Contact
  • Commitment to furthering the agency’s overall mission
Additional Information:
  • This is a part-time position (10-15 hours per week) during normal business hours in the Spring 2023 semester
  • Position is primarily work from home with potential for infrequent hybrid schedule
  • Proof of vaccination will be required unless there is documented medical or religious exemption
